Shale 5

$35.00

We need some outcrops with very low relief, either because that’s how our prototype scene looks, or because we just don’t have all that much room at one spot on our layout. Shale 5 comes to the rescue. You can see it’s basically shaped like a parallelogram, which makes it easy to combine more than one piece to make a long, continuous outcrop.

Our display photo here shows two pieces combined end to end on an N scale diorama. You can’t see how there’s a repeat of two identical pieces? That’s because we mounted one of them right side up and the next one inverted, upside down. Either way, they look very realistic. Shale 5 measures 18 by 5 inches, with only about a half inch of relief. The piece also has nicely rounded edges, making it easy to blend into surrounding scenery.
